Prior to Hurricane Matthew devastating Haiti, Andy and I and had planned a trip to Haiti to get involved with a local non-profit called Konbit Haiti. We learned about this organization through the Director of Operations of our real estate team–his brother and sister in law founded it and it’s mission spoke to our hearts. Andy was going to be meeting with and teaching business skills to local entrepreneurs and we wanted to get a close up view of the organization at large.
Since the hurricane, the news has blown up with reports of the cholera outbreak being the worst epidemic of cholera in recent history, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Knowing that our visit would coincide with an ongoing relief effort, we wanted to help. The founders of Konbit Haiti said clean water is paramount. Andy and I have committed to showing up in Haiti (in 7 days!!!) with 600 water filtration systems which will provide fresh water to an entire village. Each of those systems costs just over $20; we need to collect $13,000 to make this happen. Will you help us? Every bit helps! Click here to make a tax-deductible donation (choose clean water filters) THANK YOU!
