There is so much that has happened between month 5 and 6, but my absolute favorite thing about this age as that Parker can now sit up. I think babies sitting on their bums is just the absolute cutest thing ever, and I couldn't wait for her to reach this milestone. She still topples a bit if she doesn't have something behind her, but she's getting stronger every day. (But I'm definitely not ready for her to start crawling yet)!
Here are some updates-
Food:: So far she's tried avocado, banana, sweet potato and oatmeal. She's super into food. Every time Andy and I sit down to eat she intently stares at our food and reaches for it.
Poop:: Her blowouts have massively decreased since starting solids; but now her poop stinks and it's more adult like poop. Her farts stink too.
Talking:: On February 20th (I remember because it happened on our anniversary), she distinctly went from cooing to making very pronounced sounds. She says nanananana, and dadadadada, but no mamamama yet.
Play:: She has moments of contentment sitting in a corner playing with her toys. It's nice that I can get a few things done while she plays.
Sleep:: Baby girl is sleeping through the night!!! She goes to bed between 530 and 630 (usually) and wakes up around 7am. We have a random wake-up every now and then, but for the most part I am getting consistent sleep now! Yay!
Naps:: She usually takes a nap between 930 and 1030 and will sleep anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Her second naps is sometime between 12-1 and she will usually sleep from 1-2 hours. BUT, some days she wont nap at all and just roll around in her crib.
Likes:: This girl loves peek-a-boo and favorite song is the Itsy Bitsy Spider. She also likes it when I clap.
Dislikes:: She hates when I get out of eyesight and is still a little iffy about being passed to other people. I'm starting to accept that this girl is not a cuddler. This helps me understand why she hated being swaddled, is not a fan of the car seat and doesn't enjoy being in the ergo or moby for more than a few minutes. I think it's all too constraining for her. I guess she likes her freedom.
She definitely has personality. Here are some outtakes.
I love her Zoolander face in the top right pic!

Congrats, girl! What a sweet post :)

ReplyDeleteShe is so so sweet, and I definitely see similarities in our babies! Ethan isn't a cuddler either, he loves to just be on the floor kicking and rolling!

ReplyDeleteShe is adorable and I can't tell you how jealous I am of your sleep. I figured since my first slept good my second would too. Well better than she does anyway, I mean I would be happy with a consistent eight hour chunk. Oh well maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteCute!
