The Announcement!

Yesterday we closed on our new home!  I didn't want to say anything until it was official--we've made 3 offers over the past 7 months on this house, and the close date kept moving, and moving and moving agian--but now it's finally ours!  I can't wait to give you the tour.  Don't let the outside fool ya...this house needs a complete remodel, which will be a very slow process as we scrimp and save.  But I absolutely fell in love with this 1964 mid century modern home.  If you follow me on pinterest, you may have been wondering why I started a "mid century modern" pin board about 7 months ago.  We currently live in a craftsman that is over 100 years old, so my antique shabby chic furniture and decor will look silly in a house like this, so we are literally starting from scratch with this house (and we'll be sitting on the floor for awhile).  Let the craigslist/thrifting/DIYing begin!

  13. Congrats on the new home! House hunting to close has so many ups and downs that it's now wonder you wanted to wait until it was a done deal to announce it. Friends of ours bought a house with a similar look about a month ago. I know you are so up to the task of making it look great.
