Those cheeks. Those eyes. Those lips. Ahhhh...she just kills me. What was a 7 pound itty bitty infant is now at least double that, practically outgrowing her 6 month clothing. I really love each stage of growth we've gone through.
She smiles, coos and giggles all the time now! It's crazy how vocal she is...she started nonstop "talking'" on New Year's Eve and just went for hours and hours. Her sleep is hit or miss; about every other night we have a good night, but the nights in between have meant long days for mama. Baby girl absolutely refuses taking a bottle--we tried everything and nothing worked. I started back to work last week so this was causing major anxiety...after many of my readers suggestions, we tried feeding her with a medicine dropper and that seems to work somewhat. It's a bit of a pain, but I'm relieved that she'll take something and it frees me up if I need to get out of the house.
Parker is a power pooper. We have blowouts daily. Another reader suggested Huggies Overnights (which have worked for middle of the night blowouts), but so far she's blown out of Pampers, Luv's, Huggies, and Target brand diapers during the day. I still can't get over how I'm cleaning poop off this child's shoulders...not to mention the amount of laundry I do now. Oye.
I had my first freak out moment--Parker fell out of her swing (I forgot to buckle her in). By the grace of God she managed to somehow brace herself on the hardwood and there was barely a peep out of her. She was completely fine but I was kicking myself for not buckling her in. Lord help me, I know this is only the beginning of accidents, but my heart could barely take it!

she is such an adorable baby and i love her name!
ReplyDeletethose accidents happen to all moms i'm sure. i know it happened to me with my first one when he was barely a month. i tell you they're so fragile, but he was okay.
you're doing good momma!
Happy four months!!!
ReplyDeleteAt around four months, we had a major blowout issue too and we upped our diaper size (even though she wasn't at the weight limit) and it worked for us. Worth a shot?
What a pretty little thing!
she is the cutest ... but those blowouts, hahaha. that would have me all sorts of, hmmm, not even sure the word, haha. but based on these pictures i would never guess you clean poop off her shoulders.
ReplyDeleteok, i think that's enough poop talk, lol.
glad she braced herself. so smart already!!
4 months already?! how is this possible?
Four months!! Time flies. She already looks so big!
ReplyDeleteAw yes.. I will always remember the ::first:: time Tristen fell off our bed at about 4 months.. it's just the most awful feeling!
wow ruthy ann she is absolutely beautiful!! those eyes of hers and those lips so precious! you definitely have a cutie on your hands
ReplyDeleteShe's precious!
ReplyDeleteAwww she is the post precious thing! Adorbs!! By the way.... not sure how they will hold up to blow outs like Parker is having but we use the Babies-R-Us store brand diapers and they are GREAT!!!
ReplyDeleteMOST** precious
ReplyDeletewhat a doll! she is getting so big (which i am sure is wonderful & heartbreaking at the same time...at least for me!) and just beautiful! happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how quickly she's growing! And she's so cute. Don't beat yourself up too much friend, when she starts walking, she'll be doing much worse to herself than you forgetting to buckle her in. She'll grow up to be a tough cookie. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Her eyes really pop in that last photo! How is the bottle feeding going?? It might be expensive on the wallet, but sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right nipple on the right bottle and buying several different ones.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe she is 4 months already! Time is FLYING!!! So crazy! Still the cutest baby ever. And I love her adorable little hat. And also the look she's giving you in that first picture. ha. Such attitude. :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh I love her face! She's getting so big! What a sweetheart. I love hearing about all her milestones. :)
ReplyDeleteHow is she so old already?! What a sweet sweet little girl you have.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how Parker seems to do it, but that girl gets cuter every day! And I about died from the adorableness overload when I saw her in that beanie. What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are PRECIOUS!!! What a pretty baby girl! This post brought to mind all the escapades I went through with my Bekah in those first months. Never a dull moment, huh? =) So glad God watched over your girl and she didn't get hurt when she fell. We all forget to buckle them in from time to time. You're a great mom!!
ReplyDeleteHe is GORGEOUS! How truly blessed you are :)

Ditto on upping the diaper size. My little one turned 4 months on Jan 25th and is in size 3 diapers because I was over her having blow-outs. Love your blog, glad I found it!
