Great Times & Sad Goodbyes

The past two weeks I have been spoiled with Nana, Pop and Auntie Tay Tay in town.  I've barely lifted a finger...it was like having a live in nanny, cook and maid service and I have been so incredibly grateful as I started back to work last week and haven't had to worry about Parker Penny or my household.
We've had so much fun and I'm so sad to see them go. I really, really wish Andy and I lived closer to our families--I didn't get the chance to know my extended family growing as we were a military family and never lived near relatives.  I will make sure this little girl grows up remembering experiences with her grandparents. I'm determined!
We will miss you Nana, Pop and Auntie Tay--but I know we'll see you again soon!

  1. It's always so nice when family visits! And makes life that much harder when they leave. Ahhh I know the feeling well! Glad you got to spend time with them! :)

  2. I've never been close to extended family either. The concept of grandma or grandma doesn't mean as much to me as I've never had relationships with them. Technology helps; but when you live far you will definitely have to work harder to make sure Parker knows them. Glad you had a great visit. Family love and family help is the best.

  3. Glad you and Andy and little Parker P got some quality family time in. I feel so very blessed that both my family and my Andy's family are within an hour of us.

In fact, I'm already getting anxiety if my Taylor (I have to use MY a lot in your blog comments) decides to leave the area when she grows.

I'm glad you are starting Parker young on the importance of family!

    1. Btw - my Andy's mom's middle name is Ruth and we've thrown that name around a few times when talking about future babies.

Would you be weirded out if I had a husband, Andy and two kids with Taylor and Ruth in their names? HAHAHAHA

  5. yeah, all of my extended family is in Africa so I'm not close to them either. but it's the reason why i am so close to my immediate family. when we have kids in the future (God's willing) i am also very determined to make sure that my kids have a close relationship to my immediate family as well.

  7. I wish we lived closer to my family too. Although living far away helps to cherish the time together, don't you think?
