Designing the Nursery// Update

It's been awhile since I've updated you with progress on Parker Penny's nursery; mostly because it's acting as a storage unit and everything I've bought and received is in a big pile on the floor. There has been some progress however, that I wanted to fill you in on.  As I mentioned in my last nursery design post, Fisher Price and Sherwin-Williams partnered together and created the Room to Bloom Nursery Design Tool which helped me realize I wanted more than just boring plain walls in the room.  Initially, the room I designed looked like this:
The tool lets you match your flooring, and choose paint color options and designs that suit you best.
When we got to Sherwin-Williams I thought I knew what paint color I was going to choose, but actually pulling the trigger was more difficult than I thought.  I finally left the decision up to my husband because the first time around of choosing paint colors didn't work out so well.
You'll notice that we ended up painting vertical stripes instead of horizontal stripes.  We couldn't for the life of us figure out why our horizontal stripes weren't coming out level.  After multiple attempts to redo them, we realized that our walls were uneven.  (The joys of owning a home that is over 100 years old!).  So vertical stripes it was.  (Can you see how in the last photo Andy is balancing precariously on scrap wood and a crate to reach the top of the wall over the stairs?  My hero).
I love how the stripes turned out and can't wait to show you the nursery once it's complete!

  2. Love the stripes! We did horizontal and it has been the biggest pain ever. We still have one wall to do that we have been putting off but we are running out of time. We have the same swing, my daughter loved it and I'm hoping my new daughter will too.
