30 Weeks

Top: Cabi // Cardigan: Cabi // Jeans: Motherhood Maternity

And the countdown begins!  This last trimester is going by so slow and so fast at the same time.  Andy and I are slowly whittling down our to-do list week by week, but there is still so much to complete before Parker Penny arrives.

I had my 30 week check up today and baby girl is measuring perfectly.  She is about 15.7 inches and 2.75 pounds.  So she is only a very small portion of the 30 pounds I've put on.  Yep. 30.  I'm going to be OK with that.  (deep breaths).

The not so good news is I have pregnancy induced anemia and I'm developing carpel tunnel.  Both which are fairly common, so I'm not freaked out by it...just adding iron pills to my pre-natals, fiber pills, and Tums.

What's awesome?  Watching my belly dance--she's a squirmy lil thing.
What's not awesome?  Dropping anything. I had no idea how often I drop stuff...bending over is no bueno.

At what stage did you take off your wedding ring?  I'm nervous about it getting stuck....any advice for the last 10 weeks?

  1. I recommend a carpal tunnel wrist brace with splint (found at stores like CVS, Walgreens, Target) - they are not cute but necessary. I couldn't drive for my last trimester without one on each hand.

  2. You look adorable Ruthy! Parker. I hadn't caught what her name will be previous to this post. I love it.

My advice for the last 10 weeks: go buy things and return things as much as possible. It may be the last 10 weeks of your life where getting the $20 bucks back vs. the outing and ordeal to get $20 bucks back, just isn't worth it. ;)

  3. I remember my 30 week photo and looking like an absolute whale. You look phenomenal!!!

Lucky for me, I never had to take off my wedding rings. My fingers survived the bloat. Now my ankles on the other hand....

  4. Parker Penny is the sweetest little name. I love it. Sadly, I have no advice for you on pregnancy but it's been great reading about all I have to look forward to when that day comes. :) Once again, you have stellar taste in fashion!

  6. Had you not commented on my post yesterday I would have never found your blog. Had I not found your blog I wouldn't be able to tell you how friggin adorable you are pregnant. I mean I was a cow - no joke. AS FAR AS THE RING GOES - as soon as you start to worry about it getting stuck, just take it off sweetie. Trust me on this one. Get a chain and wear it around your neck. It will save you the heartache of having to have it cut off... *insert a tear*
    following you! ;)

  7. Here is a funny blog post about why you should take your ring off - http://usthreebirds.blogspot.com/2011/07/dumb-ass-moment-of-day.html. I was pregnant with my second when I read that and pretty much stopped wearing my ring then and there, which I was around 30 weeks. My first pregnancy I wore my ring the whole time, but I lived in a cold climate and didn't have much swelling at all. My second pregnancy, I was living in 100+ degree weather and the ring really needed to go.

  9. umm you look SO great!!!!!!!
with both my boys I had to take mine off at the end. I'm not sure what time frame it was but I hated it. I ended up wearing one of my grandmothers vintage rings so I didn't feel "un-married" ha ha.
I'm 24 wks and still wearing mine right now, we'll see how long it lasts with these twins!
