Looking Back at the First Trimester

Let me just tell ya, the first trimester (for me) was anything but feminine.  If you're super lady like, I'd skip over the whole pregnancy thing.  Constant burping, gas, constipation, gagging, upchucking, acid reflux....sounds hot right?  (There is only so much you can blame on the dog).  I was one of the unlucky ones plagued with unbearable, god awful, horrific pretty bad morning sickness (all day sickness, rather). For the most part, I was in my bathrobe, un-showered, in bed, groaning and/or crying and looking very, very pathetic. When women would say, "I just loved being pregnant, don't you just love being pregnant?" I'm sure my eyes could've shot darts.   There are books that tell you about this stuff once you're pregnant, but it's not knowledge you really seek out prior to getting pregnant, therefore not really discussed.  Speaking of stuff people don't discuss, did you known the average woman is actually pregnant for 10 months?  Whaaaa???  How did I not know this?  What was the craziest thing you found out when you were pregnant?

  2. I'm sorry your first tri was so terrible. I had morning sickness, but not nearly to the degree you described. And yes, I cooked Taylor for 41 weeks. That's a long time.

My 2nd trimester was my favorite. You start to look "cute pregnant" and you get your energy back...well at least I did. Good luck to you!

  3. to be honest, if i could skip the 9 months part {and you say 10 months, what?!} and just have the baby, i would gladly do it, hehe.

  4. Being pregnant sounds awful. Even if I don't get sick my belly expanding to quadruple it's size is bad enough. I have no illusions about loving being pregnant and I don't plan on doing it anyways. I hope it gets better for you soon so you will have some good memories at least of being pregnant.

  5. Here's to being able to eat and enjoy it again! I'd ask how many more weeks but am still scarred over the 40 total. Yikes!

  6. The only cool thing I remember about the whole pregnancy thing was when a bump (a foot or something) moved across my belly. Everything else was not my cup of tea. I also remember reaching for something and my boob got in the way. First time in my life THAT ever happened!

  7. Oh, I hear you! I had TERRIBLE "morning" sickness with all three of my pregnancies.

Also? I am totally *not* one of those women who "loves being pregnant." I much prefer to be a healthy, skinny, active, and energetic person. ;)

That said, pregnancy IS worth every single minute. Just wait until you hold that babe in your arms. An extraordinary miracle.

    Love to you!

  8. oh sweetie. I know how you feel. This is my 3rd go around and I was NEVER this sick with my boys. My poor husband would come home to me unbathed, laying on the couch looking like I had been hit by a truck with our other 2 kiddos still in their pj's watching tv. OR he's come home to all 3 of us in bed passed out for naptime.
It does get better in the 2nd trimester, but then other lovely little things start to show up, it's just grand :)
    lol
You look fantastic! So glad to have found your blog!
