Life Without TV

It wasn't a conscious decision not to have a television in our apartment; it was more of an afterthought.  The fact that we didn't own one, didn't want to spend the money to buy one, and didn't want another monthly bill coming our way helped in our decision to just live without one.

We don't really miss having a TV either.  Do you have a television?  Could you live without it?

  1. We have a TV, purchased in "wealthier" times - but we don't pay for cable either. We also don't have Internet service. While we have access to local channels, we don't find ourselves missing TV either.

    It's expensive!

  3. We have a television ... and honestly, I don't think I could live without it. Nope, I know I can't. Kinda sad but I can admit it! :)

  5. When first married, we didn't have a tv for years. "No room is empty if your mind is full". We LOVE to read and chat. But since the world cup footie, we have a tv now.

And don't you know living in England means you have to pay a TV license!!!

  6. I have a TV's all over the house and I'm with Faith, I don't think I could live without it. I mean technically I could but it would be hard.

  11. I lived with a television, but no cable, for almost seven years...until I moved in with my husband. I know I can live without it, but there are some really great shows on right now that I don't think I'd want to miss!

  12. In our most recent move (a week ago) we chose to do without cable and/or satellite. We still have the TV for things like Xbox *scowl*, Netflix and digital antenna. So far (although it's only been a week), not missing it at all.

  13. I have a tv, but no stations, and I do get a Netflix or Redbox movie every so often. I haven't had cable or any stations for about two years and I don't miss it. I also don't have a computer {2 of them died within 6 months so I figured I wasn't supposed to ahve one} and I don't miss that much either. I'm on a computer at work all day so I am able to keep track of blogs, pay bills, and such.

  15. I'd miss it. It brings some mindless and sometimes n ot so mindless entertainment into my life. I work hard...I need that! OK. Rephrase that. I want that.

  16. Someone gave us a ridiculous huge tv (we are in ministry so things get donated to us-such a blessing) but sometimes I would love to get rid of it. Sometimes I feel like it sucks my life away.

  17. We have a tv... a nice looking flat screen one bought about 2 years ago which we probably switched on once every couple of months. :( We're hoping to get more use out of it next year though, fingers crossed.
