Our First Married Double Date

Since February 20th, our wedding day, our bubble has not expanded beyond ourselves.  We have definitely been in "honeymoon" mode and haven't been too interested in meeting other people and exchanging much more than pleasantries.  It's been a little over three months and we've been thinking a lot about our future, places to live, jobs and missing loved ones.  I think we were ready to break the bubble and actually engage in adult conversation with others.
(I know it's blurry...but it's the only pic we got together!)
We have been staying at Kep Lodge, a gorgeous place where there have been more young couples than young backpackers.  We struck up a conversation with another couple from Boston one afternoon which lead to a game of Hearts and some lounging in the pool.  The next day we had dinner by the pool and chatted for a couple of hours.  And the next day we actually went into town for an amazing seafood feast followed by a game of Bananagrams (omg...this game is so fun) and cards...it was officially our first "double date" ad a married couple and we had a blast.  Josh and Margo will forever be our Cambodia BFF's.  Unfortunately they've moved on from Kep Lodge, but I'm happy to say that I think we're officially "social" again.

Did you go into hibernation when you first got married?

  3. There was a lot of stressful family stuff right around the time of our wedding (but who doesn't deal with that!?). So, my boss suggested that my new hubbie and I should lock ourselves away in our "love cave" for a while. It was great! But, it's also So great to have newly married firsts too!

  4. Sounds like you guys had fun!

I don't think we really did the hibernation thing - but during the week we don't go out much - so when we get home we get into our comfy "sloth" clothes and chill out on our own.

P.s. Vietnam is meant to be THE place to get suits made!

  6. I felt we definitely did. It was like all of the hoopla was finally over, and we could just chill. It was nice!
