Now that I'm married, I'm actually excited about celebrating getting older! There is such a relief--truly, a sense of peace about aging, wrinkles, weight gain and all the other crap you worry about as a single woman. I'm so glad that time in my life is OVER. I look forward to the milestones, the wrinkles, the memories (not so much the weight gain) and another candle on the birthday cake!
I look forward to these birthdays.
Do you feel different about aging now that your married?
This picture is really cute!! I agree with you on this. I'm not as concerned with age anymore because I'm not running out of time to find someone, or like you said, dealing with wrinkles and weight gain in the face of singledom! I think getting older is a beautiful thing, especially when you have someone to reflect your years with!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI don't know ... aging to me is not welcomed, hehe. I love the fact that I get to wake up everyday healthy and blessed but I really don't want to get old. I want the hubs and I to stay young forever! :) I know that won't happen ... but I can dream!
I really, really wish I had your beautiful attitude! :)
ABSOLUTELY! I totally agree with you, I look forward to my husband and I rocking in our rocking chairs on the porch sipping lemonaide and losing our dentures in the glass. All because I'm married and look forward to being in love for a long, long time :D
ReplyDeleteEach anniversary I say to my husband - I love our history, we have a history! It's so cool.
HAPPY 32nd BIRTHDAY!!! I turn 39 this weekend too!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!! Are you getting cake??
Man, I feel like there are birthdays all over the blog world this week! I'm having a little birthday envy...
ReplyDeleteHappiest of days to you my dear!
Happy birthday, girl! I don't mind aging as much...as long as I don't look too long at the magazine rack! lol...but I def feel a sense of ease that I'm no longer on the market, if that makes sense. I want to always try to look my best for James...but that sense of being single and feeling like it was a competition w/ every beautiful girl...yes, I am glad that part of my life is OVER too! Single life was great...but I am so happy to be out of that phase!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!!! I don't mind getting older - I'll be 30 this year and it doesn't bother me. I even have a couple gray hairs :-}
ReplyDeleteI figure I'm going to get older whether I like it or not, so I'd better learn how to enjoy it :-}
I think I've definitely become more comfortable with it. My 30's have been the best time of my life so far!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, pretty! I hope you have an amazing weekend!
Happy birthday! I'm not afraid of aging, but I definitely feel like time is moving too quickly. Sometimes I want it to just slow down, so I can enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great birthday!! My birthday is this weekend too, we're twinsies.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind getting older, life just keeps getting better and better.
Happy Birthday!!! I love seeing elderly couples. It is so sweet and touching to see them as in love as 80 year olds as they were when they first got married. It's truly a wonderful thing to grow old with someone and not have to worry that the not-so-nice bodily changes that come with age will not keep you from being loved by your one and only! You are so blessed to be celebrating your first birthday as a married woman with a husband you love dearly. I pray you two celebrate many many more together!
ReplyDeleteWell, I haven't gotten married yet (the wedding's in September) but I kind of feel like enjoying getting older will come once we finally have kids. Although we are still young, the pressure to have them in the next couple of years is still apparent. Although I am just 29 and he's 28, we can feel the clock ticking...louder every year...but we still want a few more years of freedom. We know we can't wait too much longer... SO anyway, getting older will be more enjoyable without that pressure, I hope.
ReplyDelete32 - for real? I am such a bad judge of age obviously - but I would have guessed mid 20's.
ReplyDeleteAdore the photo you used for this post.
Yes! I feel the same way that you do. Being married brings so much...peace. I would never want to go back to being single again. Never ever.
