You have to watch the video at the end of the post...it's too funny!
Wow. We've been in Vietnam for less than one day and we're in love with this place. After a long, chaotic, hilarious, bumpy bus ride from Cambodia, we arrived in Chau Doc, a small, colorful, bustling town. We were exhausted so we checked into a hotel which over looks the market, showered, then walked outside to get Vietnamese sandwiches, which were $.50 each...I have a feeling this will become our staple food.
Lots of fish and squid at the market
We went to bed early and woke up to explore this town...we got more than we bargained for--we got pulled into a Vietnamese wedding reception! More on this later...Earlier in the morning we explored this awesome town and walked into the back streets of the villages. The people here are so friendly, every child is eager to wave and say hello; as we walked through the streets the parents were calling out to their kids to come out and say hi to us.
But the ultimate highlight of the morning was Andy chatting with these lady's and trying to learn some Vietnamese. It was HILARIOUS!
We have 30 days in Vietnam...I'm so excited!

I have heard nothing but amazing things about that country...definitely living vicariously through you right now, please keep us posted, what an adventure!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures! I feel like I'm traveling around the world every time I visit your blog. :) Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteI have long wanted to go to Vietnam too! I hear the rock climbing is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! Wish I was there. We always pack lots of little gifts for kids when we go to places like Thailand and Bali - I imagine it to be similar to Vietnam. Even foreign coins make them go crazy! Love making them happy.
