Fortunately, my hubby and I are here in Panama...Boquete to be exact and this is my first day at an internet cafe. We have had an amazing time, however, getting here has been quite the ordeal. It´s a good thing we have a sense of humor and aren´t on a time line because the series of events that happened to us was would have caused a normal persone some seriously bad travel days. We were supposed to be in Panama Wednesday...I got a horrible UTI and was unable to fly, so we were rescheduled to fly Friday. We got to Miami at 2:30pm and our connecting flight was supposed to leave at 5:45. Then 7:30, then 8:00, then 9:45. We boarded the plane, sat there for about an hour, and then we were told it would be about another hour. We decided to get a hotel and leave the next morning. We waited for a hotel shuttle for about an hour. Unfortunately, they wouldn't pull our bags off the plane, so we ended up at the hotel with the clothes on our backs, dead cell phones, and some jelly beans. We checked in at about 1:00am and had the furthest possible room. We walk to the elevator, get in....it doesn´t move. We finally get into another elevator and walk to the door exhausted and ready to collapse; we put the key in the door and get the flashing red light instead of green. Hmph...we do it again, red. Normally this wouldn´t be a big deal...but if you include it with the day we already had it was just the icing on the cake. We laughed...we were delirious. We showered with no toiletries, put on the same dirty clothes the next morning and finally we were off to Panama.
Of course, so far on our travels we´ve dealt with buses breaking down--multiple times. BUT, we are having the time of our lives...and being married is truly PHENOMINAL.
